Do you Facebook?

Is that already a verb, like "google" is now a verb? I'm not sure if Facebook is a verb yet, but it should be because Facebook is fun. I was pretty skeptical that it could be any different than, say Linked In. But, Facebook has some super fun applications. I like that you can post images. How fun it is to search and see what your grade school friends now look like. Or, at least what their kids look like. Since a lot of people use their kids' images for their Facebook image.

So, I'm thinking aloud right now... Wouldn't it be nice for your old and current friends to see a super great image on your profile? I'd be happy to send you a small sized image (with a small logo it) for your Facebook photo. Just add me as a friend, and write on my wall, or add a comment to this post. This is my gift to my current and former clients, because you're all such great people. :)

Looking forward to seeing you online!

Sneak Peek for the "A" family

Here's a sneak peek for two super cute kids from Kansas. Yes, Kansas! Their grandmother lives in Cary, and they had their portraits made while they are in town visiting. How fun is that?

I had a lot of fun with you last week. I'm working on all your proofs, and they'll be ready shortly.

My image included in a photography DVD

John Upton is a world famous photographer and the co-author of the photography book that is used in nearly all college photography programs. Calumet Photographic (my favorite photography store) makes great learning DVDs, and recently they partnered with John Upton on a DVD entitled "The Essence of Photography".

At the end of the DVD, they picked a bunch of images to have John provide his thoughts on. One of the images included in the DVD is my image "Strong". And, he had positive things to say about my image! How cool to have one of my images reviewed by John Upton, and then published on a DVD.

Who likes a secret?

No peaking! I can't show you yet. But, I'm working on something really fun for all my baby clients. Actually, it's for their super nice mommies. I'll give you a hint: it's really cute, it includes an image of your baby, and it's practical. How often do you get something that's totally cute *and* practical. Okay, that's technically three hints. Give up? Well, I'm still working on it, so I don't have any images to show. So, you'll just have to check back in a little while.

Here's one more tidbit of info just to tease you. I think they are so cute and fun that I'm giving one away for each baby session. Yay! I'll do this for baby sessions going forward. And, if you've already had a baby session, I'd be happy to make one for you as well. Just say "pretty please with sugar on top".

Sneak Peek for "R"

Here's one image from a session with three year old "R". I think I'll call this image "soulful", because I do love her expression here. "R" wasn't quite up for the happy and smiling images, but here's one that I think is lovely. I applied an antique finish so it matches her timeless expression. And wouldn't you just kill for those gorgeous curls?

Baby "R"

Here's just one sneak peek for the "S" family. It was so great to see you again this past weekend! Both your girls are just so beautiful and a dream to photograph.

Mothers and Daughters

I always love capturing the love between a mother and daughter, because I know what a special relationship that is. Here is one image that just makes my heart sing, and makes me want to give my daughter a big hug and kiss. And, while I don't climb into my mother's lap and give her kisses anymore, I hope that she knows that I love her so very much and am thankful for her every day.

Sweet "T"

This almost five year old is such a doll and so pretty! Her mom has a great sense of style and brought the most awesome outfits. Too bad she can't come along on all my sessions to dress the subjects and hold the reflector. Here are a few sneak peeks. This is only one of the outfits. The red pettiskirt is mine, but her mom made it look incredible. She gets the credit, but I can keep the good tip. I'm going to have to remember "blue and red".

Lake Michigan

A really great client wants some beach images in a few weeks, so I went out recently to scope out a good spot. My husband suggested Hawaii. Ha ha ha. I found a great local spot here, at the Wilmette Beach. I love the grasses, sand, and blue waters. It was pure delight to see my kids laughter as they ran in and out of the waves. I'll maybe post some of those shots later. But, I really liked these more formal ones. The second image has a filter applied to give it a bit of a mysterious, dreamlike feel.
